Santana Cathedral
The Santana Cathedral, originating from the old Main Church and located in the central region of the city, is one of the main symbols of Mogi das Cruzes. Destined for the patron saint Sant'Anna, it was built in 1902 on the same site where the first chapel in the settlement was built. In 1952, a new parish church was designed by Monsignor Roque Pinto de Barros, Vicar of the Parish. With a construction project inspired by the Roman architecture of the first Christian temples, its facade consists of a central body, corresponding to the main nave, flanked by two towers.
