Taiaçupeba Parish Church
Local devotion to Saint Sebastian began around the end of the 19th century. With the efforts of farmers Pedro Thiago Franco Martins and José Nunes, a chapel was built in the village of "Desbruado" (currently Bairro São Sebastião). As the years passed, the devotion took shape and conquered the growing village, thus creating the need for a larger temple. The current church then began to be built, with its first stage being completed in 1904. From this date onwards the temple took shape, becoming sacred in 1916 for religious services, and being decorated with paintings made by José Benedito da Cruz, a great artist. sacred-popular known as JBC, which completed its work in 1919. The last expansion of the temple gave it a tower and a bandstand, and was completed in 1928. From then on, the temple continued without changes to its structure.
Renovated around the 19th century and redecorated with very valuable carvings and paintings on its ceiling, which deserve to be highlighted.
