Neblinas Park
Opened in 1977, it is located on the edge of the municipalities of Mogi das Cruzes and Bertioga, and is an environmental conservation area managed by the Ecofuturo Institute. With an extension of approximately 7,000 hectares, the park covers areas of the Atlantic Forest and is an example of environmental recovery and preservation, having been recognized since 2006 as an Outpost of the Green Belt Biosphere Reserve of the City of São Paulo, playing an important role in the conservation of basin of the Itatinga River and the largest continuous Atlantic Forest in the country: the Serra do Mar State Park and the Serra de Paranapiacaba. Biodiversity is rich, housing more than 1,200 species of fauna and flora, many of which are threatened with extinction. Parque das Neblinas offers guided trails, environmental education activities and scientific research, providing a unique connection with nature. The Park has trails, a spring, a mining waterfall and a suspended walkway (100 m long).
